This concert will be a unique opportunity to listen to some gifted young musicians play a dazzling array of classical music. The choir will sing from a variety of choral music ranging from the baroque Pitoni and madrigals from Arcadelt to the late Romantics such as Bruckner.
The orchestra will perform: Concerto per Violoncello (Haydn) Concerto per due Violini (Vivaldi) Canzonas (Gabrieli)
The King's School is a historic cathedral school with a music tradition that stretches back to 1541, when it was founded by Henry VIII, and which continues very actively today.
Under the direction of Nicholas Kerrison and Gareth Jenkins, the choir and orchestra have already toured successfully to many European countries, performing in Barcelona Cathedral and Basilica di San Marco, Venezia among others.
As you will hear, the emphasis placed on music in the students' education is literally audible from the quality of this joyous performance!
